My foglights are yellow now. One doesn’t work so it gets a black X for extra vintage rally car points.

Mine are too! But only the bulbs. Shouldn’t you get the non-working one working again lest it not pass ins
pection?

Yellow is the only acceptable fog light colour! Good job!

... now I'm considering tinting my foglights.

Easy-peasy, do it. It’s reversible, cheap, fun, easy, legal... What’s not to like.

When I had it under inspection no-one even asked about
the fog-lights. I think that since they aren’
t
mandatory (and not all cars have them), that they aren’t checked.

Here in my part of Canada, if the car has a light, it has to be checked for function, so even if it’s a model that had some versions come with foglights and others that didn’t, if yours DID, they have to be working! :)
They check all exterior lights - interior lights don’t matter, but all exteri
or lights have to be working.
